Nature-Based. High-Performance. Versatile.
Discover the next generation of organic mortar applications.
We at Medusoil couldn’t be more proud to support this world-first live showcase of microbial biofabrication with materials, know-how, and logistics—right at the heart of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – Fondazione La Biennale di Venezia.
Located in the Arsenale Exhibition – Geological Microbial Formations, this temporal construction site continuously operates throughout the Biennale. A robotic arm builds an architectural structure by layering granulates and applying biocementation agents enriched with native soil and groundwater microbes.
Inspired by the formation of stromatolites, this pioneering installation is a collaboration between matter, microbes, machine, and time. A celebration of living architecture and sustainable innovation.
Kudos to the brilliant minds and partners behind this achievement:
Karen Antorveza, Prof. Benjamin Dillenburger, Robert Kindler, and our co-founder Dr. Dimitrios Terzis
