This media coverage highlights our pioneering approach to producing <strong data-start=\"372\" data-end=\"398\">eco-friendly biocement<\/strong> directly in the canton of Vaud.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>A Sustainable Alternative to Traditional Cement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>As explained in the report, our biocement is based on an innovative method that combines <strong data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"630\">technology, ecology, and circular economy principles<\/strong>. Unlike traditional cement\u2014whose production is highly energy-intensive and accounts for nearly 8% of global CO\u2082 emissions\u2014our solution relies on a <strong data-start=\"778\" data-end=\"819\">biological process inspired by nature<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p>The cement is produced using bacteria capable of <strong data-start=\"871\" data-end=\"904\">solidifying granular material<\/strong> through calcium carbonate precipitation. The result is a durable, solid construction material with a <strong data-start=\"1006\" data-end=\"1046\">significantly lower carbon footprint<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>A First in French-Speaking Switzerland<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>The pilot site shown in the report is <strong data-start=\"1131\" data-end=\"1187\">the first of its kind in French-speaking Switzerland<\/strong>. It was established on Vaud soil in a controlled environment that allows for optimized production conditions. This project, supported by scientific and technical partners, represents a <strong data-start=\"1373\" data-end=\"1419\">major step toward sustainable construction<\/strong> in Switzerland.<\/p>\n\n<p>The La T\u00e9l\u00e9 journalist also emphasized the project\u2019s local roots: materials are sourced locally, production happens on-site, and everything fits into a regional strategy for innovation and ecological transition.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Promising and Practical Applications<br \/><\/strong>Beyond research, our biocement is already in the <strong data-start=\"1741\" data-end=\"1764\">demonstration phase<\/strong>. In the video, practical examples are shown\u2014such as soil stabilization and simple structural applications\u2014illustrating the material\u2019s potential for:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><p data-start=\"1917\" data-end=\"1972\"><strong data-start=\"1917\" data-end=\"1940\"> Reinforcing terrain<\/strong> (road edges, riverbanks, etc.),<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><p data-start=\"1975\" data-end=\"2018\"><strong data-start=\"1975\" data-end=\"2017\"> Manufacturing prefabricated components<\/strong>,<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><p data-start=\"1975\" data-end=\"2018\">Providing <strong data-start=\"2031\" data-end=\"2085\">environmentally responsible construction solutions<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Recognition That Strengthens Our Mission<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>This media exposure reinforces our mission: <strong data-start=\"2178\" data-end=\"2269\">to reinvent construction materials to meet today\u2019s environmental and climate challenges<\/strong>.
