By leveraging microbial activity, this innovative technology provides a path toward carbon-neutral and carbon-negative construction for geotechnical and building applications.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-science\">The Science: Carbon Drawdown through Microbial Activity<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-science-text\">At the core of our solution is a naturally occurring microbe capable of converting atmospheric CO\u2082 into stable carbonate minerals. Our research, conducted in collaboration with <strong>SUPSI<\/strong> and <strong>The Laloui Group<\/strong>, observed that at concentrations above 470 ppm CO\u2082, microbial metabolism shifts to favor CO\u2082 hydration\u2014the critical first step toward long-term mineralization within the material matrix.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-applications\">Diverse Applications for Sustainable Infrastructure<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-apps-text\">This CO\u2082-responsive agent is being developed for a wide range of use cases, including:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Sustainable Building Components:<\/strong> Integrating carbon-capture into structural elements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Geotechnical Interventions:<\/strong> Low-carbon soil stabilization and erosion control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Heritage Conservation:<\/strong> Protective treatments for historic stone and masonry.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-partnership\">Supported by Innosuisse<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-partnership-text\">Supported by <strong>Innosuisse<\/strong>, Medusoil continues to expand its portfolio of biological agents.
