In 2020, Medusoil achieved major milestones in sustainable construction, including securing CHF 2 million in seed funding and pioneering low-carbon ground stabilization projects across Switzerland and the US.
CHF 2 Million Seed Funding & Growth
To support international expansion and scale up production, Medusoil successfully closed a CHF 2 million seed investment round in December 2020. This funding allows us to ramp up our operations in construction and geo-environmental sectors, bringing bio-based binders to a global market.
Innovation: Grants and Patent Recognition
Our commitment to R&D was recognized with a CHF 125,000 grant from the Swiss Climate Foundation and a CHF 280,000 technology transfer plan supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation. Additionally, our innovative soil stabilization process received a granted patent from the USPTO, strengthening our intellectual property portfolio.
Field Success & Technical Performance
In August 2020, we executed a key ground stabilization project achieving a 250% increase in soil resistance and a 99% capture of nitrogen emissions. These results demonstrate the efficiency of biocementation as a high-performance, environmentally safe alternative to traditional grouting.
International Recognition
Medusoil co-founders were featured in the Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Industry & Manufacturing. We also represented the Swiss cleantech ecosystem at Slush2022 and presented at the ASCE GeoCongress in Minneapolis, USA, highlighting our global reach from the start.
