We are thrilled to welcome two exceptional new team members at Medusoil: Lia and Maro, each bringing unique expertise to drive forward our mission of innovation in geotechnical engineering and sustainable design.
Lia – Advancing Resilient Geotechnics
Based in Utrecht, Lia joins Medusoil full-time to lead a groundbreaking project aimed at enhancing erosion resistance in river dikes using bio-cementation technology.
In partnership with Fugro, this initiative marks a significant milestone in scaling bio-based solutions for critical infrastructure. Lia’s contributions will strengthen the performance of civil engineering works while furthering our commitment to sustainable and climate-resilient geotechnics.
Maro – Showcasing a Vision on the Global Stage
Maro will represent Medusoil internationally at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, where she will present a visionary installation titled “Geological Microbial Formations”.
Supported by Medusoil, this project merges advanced digital fabrication, scalable biocement, and modular prefabrication, redefining architectural expression at the intersection of biotechnology and construction.
The installation will be featured as part of Biennale Architettura 2025, curated by Carlo Ratti, and will be open to the public until November 23, 2025, in Venice.
Shaping the Future, Sustainably
With Lia and Maro on board, Medusoil continues to push the boundaries of engineering and sustainable architecture. We look forward to collaborating with them to co-create solutions for the critical challenges of our time.
Welcome to the team!
