Medusoil Supports “Geological Microbial Formations” at Venice Biennale 2025

Medusoil is proud to support the “Geological Microbial Formations” exhibition at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. Curated by Carlo Ratti, this project redefines the relationship between nature and the built environment through the use of organic binders and biocementation technology.

A Force for Transformation in Architecture

The Venice Biennale pushes architecture beyond mere structures. “Geological Microbial Formations” integrates granular media, digital fabrication, and robotics with Medusoil’s organic binders to address the global challenge of sustainable material use. This collaboration showcases how bio-mineralization can create resilient, nature-inspired architectural forms.

The exhibition runs throughout the summer and autumn of 2025. Medusoil’s participation is supported by leading research institutions and industry enablers, including ETH Zurich (Department of Architecture and Institute of Technology in Architecture), Universal Robots, and EBERHARD AG.

The project features contributions from a multidisciplinary team, including Karen Antorveza, Robert Kindler, Benjamin Dillenburger, and Medusoil CEO Dimitrios Terzis. By combining advanced engineering with living materials, the exhibition demonstrates the future of circular construction.
